My Journey
I thought I was an unstoppable force—capable, high-functioning, and always able to hold everything together. I was the woman who kept going, carried what needed to be carried, and pushed through whatever life placed in front of me.
Then my body began to whisper. I didn’t listen.
Burnout and insomnia followed me for years. My heart raced without warning, brain fog dulled the sharpness I had always relied on, and exhaustion changed the way I moved through my life. One morning, I looked in the mirror and barely recognized the woman staring back at me—depleted, disconnected, and still trying to be who I had always been.
If you have ever been told that your tests were “normal” or that what you were experiencing was “just anxiety,” even as something inside you knew there was more to the story, you are not alone.
Following a severe post-viral season, my health reached a breaking point. My blood pressure surged dangerously high, severe chest pain began, and repeated testing did not initially explain what I was experiencing. Through persistence, research, and self-advocacy, I continued searching until I found a care team willing to listen more closely and look more deeply.
Specialized cardiovascular testing ultimately led to diagnoses of endothelial dysfunction and coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD)—a form of heart disease affecting the heart’s smallest coronary blood vessels and one I had never heard of, despite experiencing symptoms for so long. I was also diagnosed with adult-onset asthma.
As I began connecting the pieces, I came to understand my changing health within the context of three powerful, overlapping influences: long COVID, perimenopause, and profound burnout. Although no single factor explained everything, together they provided a clearer context for what my body had been experiencing.
I finally had answers—but answers alone were not the same as meaningful support.
My health had changed my body, my capacity, and my sense of safety. As those parts of my life shifted, my identity shifted too. I had to grieve who I had been while learning to live in a body that felt unfamiliar and discovering who I was becoming.
I would never have chosen these diagnoses, and I do not minimize what they have taken from me. Yet within that upheaval was an unexpected invitation to slow down, listen to my body, and reconsider what it truly means to live well.
My path forward has not been linear. My health and capacity continue to ebb and flow, bringing periods of progress as well as regression. But learning to pace myself, respect my limits, and return to the practices that genuinely support me has given me hard-won wisdom I now carry into everyday life.
I no longer measure my strength by how much I can carry or how far I can push. I am becoming a wiser, more capacity-conscious woman—one who listens to her body, honors what she needs, and continues to reinvent herself as she creates a life that can evolve with her.
My search for a deeper understanding of whole-body health led me to functional nutrition and the interconnected influences that shape wellbeing. The more I learned, the better prepared I became to recognize patterns, ask informed questions, and advocate for my health.
Looking back, I can see how little I understood about the health concerns that can emerge or become more apparent during midlife. I know many women have been left with that same gap in awareness—feeling dismissed, disconnected from their bodies, uncertain about what they need, or struggling to recognize themselves amid so much change.
I wanted to transform what I had lived and learned into the kind of support I wished I had found.
MidVita Wellness grew from that intention: to create a compassionate, whole-person space where women can better understand their experiences, explore supportive practices, and recognize patterns across their symptoms, daily readings, habits, and well-being. It offers practical tools that bring these insights together without creating more strain—making it easier to organize what they notice, communicate their experiences, prepare for healthcare conversations, advocate more confidently, and develop personal wellness wisdom they can carry through midlife and beyond.
This is the space I needed when my own life changed—and the space I hope helps other women feel less alone as they navigate the changes in theirs.
Welcome to a place where your experience matters, your capacity is honored, and the wisdom within you has room to grow.

Meet Susie
I’m Susie Ernsberger, the founder and heart behind MidVita Wellness.
My path to this work has unfolded through several interconnected roles—as a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor, Board-Certified Functional Health Coach, menopause coach, mindfulness teacher, wellness sound designer, and practitioner of holistic well-being. But MidVita was shaped just as deeply by what I learned when I became the woman searching for answers, support, and a clearer path forward.
The name MidVita reflects how I see this stage of life. Vita means “life,” and MidVita brings together midlife, vitality, and the many dimensions of a woman’s lived experience. I don’t see midlife as an ending. I see it as a significant passage that can hold uncertainty and loss, but also greater self-awareness, restoration, discovery, and renewed possibility.
My own unexpected health changes taught me how difficult it can be to understand what is happening when symptoms, life circumstances, and personal changes begin to overlap. Information can become scattered across appointments, notes, memories, and unanswered questions—leaving a woman to assemble the larger picture while she is already not feeling like herself.
I learned the importance of observing what was changing, documenting what I noticed, asking more informed questions, and becoming an active participant in my care. I also came to understand that wellness is not simply about adopting healthy habits or doing everything “right.” It includes understanding yourself, respecting your capacity, recognizing patterns, communicating your concerns, and making informed choices.
During that time, I desperately wished for one thoughtful place to bring everything together—not only symptoms, but also questions, reflections, habits, priorities, healthcare preparation, and the insights I was gathering along the way.
That need inspired the My MidVita Wellness Companion Portfolio and Smart Companion Tracker. I created these resources to help women document meaningful observations, recognize possible patterns, reflect on changes over time, prepare for healthcare conversations, and carry what they discover from one MidVita Wellness Experience into the next.
This whole-person perspective guides everything I create. Sleep, stress, nutrition, physical health, emotional well-being, relationships, identity, energy, and purpose do not exist separately. A change in one area can influence many others, and every woman arrives with her own history, circumstances, priorities, and capacity.
Through self-paced MidVita Wellness Retreats and Journeys, I bring together education, restorative practices, personal reflection, self-advocacy resources, immersive sound experiences, and practical wellness-tracking tools. My purpose is not to give women a rigid plan or tell them how they should move through midlife. It is to provide a thoughtful framework that can help them understand their needs, listen to themselves, observe meaningful changes, advocate for their health, and build a personal path forward.
As a wellness sound designer, I also create original ambient music, meditative soundscapes, and binaural audio experiences for MidVita Wellness Experiences and the MidVita Sonic Spa. Sound brings a restorative dimension to this work by offering women a place to pause, turn inward, and reconnect with the present moment.
I believe education can be credible without feeling clinical, and support can be structured without becoming rigid. Most of all, I believe midlife wellness should make room for real life—including changing health, fluctuating energy, competing responsibilities, and the need to move at a genuinely sustainable pace.

Rooted in Lived Experience
MidVita Wellness was shaped by my own experience of complex health changes, hormonal shifts, burnout, self-advocacy, and personal reinvention. That lived understanding informs a space where women can feel recognized, respected, and less alone.

Whole-Person Midlife Wellness
MidVita Wellness recognizes the connections among physical health, emotional wellbeing, energy, nutrition, stress, sleep, relationships, identity, and purpose—supporting the whole woman rather than reducing midlife to a list of symptoms.

Not every woman can attend an expensive in-person retreat or commit to an intensive program. MidVita Wellness offers thoughtfully priced, self-paced experiences you can access from home, revisit when needed, and explore without pressure or perfectionism.

Restorative and Immersive by Design
Each experience combines evidence-informed education, reflective tools, restorative practices, and original sound experiences. Your My MidVita Wellness Companion Portfolio and Smart Companion Tracker help you document reflections, observe patterns, follow your progress, and turn what you learn into a personalized wellness path you can carry forward.
The MidVita Wellness Approach
I believe women are better able to advocate for their wellbeing when they have the education, experiences, and practical tools to understand their own patterns and needs.
Each MidVita Wellness Experience provides a thoughtfully designed path and supportive framework to help you deepen your awareness, apply what you learn, and create a personalized wellness blueprint you can carry into everyday life.
This approach comes to life through six interconnected stages:
Understand
Gain evidence-informed insight into your body, wellbeing, and current season of need.
Experience
Put learning into practice through immersive, restorative activities.
Observe
Notice your responses, patterns, and needs through reflection, journaling, and optional wellness tracking.
Discover
Uncover what your observations may reveal about what supports you, challenges you, or deserves greater attention.
Advocate
Prepare to ask informed questions, communicate your concerns, and partner more confidently with your healthcare team.
Build
Bring everything you have learned and observed together into a personalized wellness blueprint—one you can realistically apply, adapt, and continue living beyond the experience.
